Ramadan Market 2025 in Souq Deira Dubai

Dubai Municipality’s Ramadan Souq is back for a third season and allows people to grab those all-important essentials ahead of the month of fasting.
Situated at the Grand Souq in Deira, the market will officially open on Saturday January 25 at 10am.
It will be until 10pm daily ahead of the festivities and close every day at 10pm until Saturday February 22.
The Ramadan crescent is expected to be spotted in the evening of Friday February 28 (subject to the sighting of the moon) which would then mean the that the first day of fasting begins on Saturday March 1.
So what can you really find at the Ramadan Souq?
Competitive prices for one thing. For another, various items and gadgets that will help you get Ramadan ready.
Special products are also on offer for the Emirati celebration of ‘Hag Al Laila’, which falls on the 15th of Sha’ban (February 14) the month before Ramadan.

This year, the Ramadan Souq is going all-out with not just a steady list of things to buy but also live entertainment, workshops and activities for the kiddos.
There will be more pop-up markets announced in the coming weeks.
The event will also include commercial displays of food, personal items, and other products, as well as live entertainment, workshops, and activities for children.
Every year, Ramadan begins and ends with the appearance of the crescent moon. It is based on the lunar calendar, which is shorter than the Gregorian calendar year.
Ramadan’s start date changes each year by moving up 10 to 12 days, allowing it to fall in different seasons throughout a 33-year cycle.
Asem Al Qassim, Director of Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department at Dubai Municipality, said: “The Ramadan Souq is one of the most significant traditional events celebrating the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan in the emirate.
“We are committed to promoting the heritage of traditional markets, which are a living testament to Dubai’s history.”
“Organising the souq in the Grand Souq area of Deira, one of Dubai’s oldest markets, affirms its enduring role as a shopping hub for personal and household needs, while also serving as a key tourist attraction that reflects the emirate’s cultural legacy.
“Our ongoing efforts aim to enhance Dubai’s appeal as a city of exceptional quality of life.”
